1. AIM:Testing of a "Light Emitting Diode".
2. MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Regulated AC supply voltage,Switch,1kOhm Resistor,Voltmeter,LED.
3. THEORY:
The fullform of LED is "Light Emitting Diode".
4. CIRCUIT DIAGRAM: (Refer adjacent page).
5. PROCEDURE:
1.) Connect the circuit as per circuit diagram.
2.)Adjust the variable digital supply voltage to 10V.
3.)Turn the switch to ON mode.
4.)Observe whether the LED glows or not ,if not check the connections once again.
5.)Note down the readings of the voltage from the voltmeter wrt time.
6.) Plot a graph taking time on the x-axis and voltage on the y- axis.
6. OBSERVATIONS:
7. ANALYSIS:
8. PRECAUTIONS:
1.)Avoid loose connections.
2.)Make sure the connections of the circuit .
3.)Check whether all the components are according to the circuit diagram, before switching ON the power supply.
9. RESULT AND CONCLUSION:
An LED is tested whether it glows or not and required graph is observed.
10. APPLICATIONS:
a)TV and Smartphone backlighting.
b)LED displays etc.
