Phase Lead Equalizer (Ground At Voltage Divider Junction)

Circuit Description

Graph image for Phase Lead Equalizer (Ground At Voltage Divider Junction)

Circuit Graph

Passive phase equalizer exhibiting positive phase shifts. The magnitude response is flat across the entire frequency range, the value is 0.5 signifying a loss. The phase varies from 180° to 0°, being 90° @ 1 kHz. The junction of the voltage divider resistors Rp and Rn is set to ground potential, this was done because a differential probe is not available. The response should be taken from the junction of Cph and Rph to the junction of Rp and Rn. Grounding the junction of Rp and Rn allows the response to be taken by a single-ended probe from the junction of Cph and Rph. With this modified circuit, the need for differential probe will arise if the excitation signal have to be displayed as comparative reference for the response.
