Determine the output characteristics of a Bipolar Junction Transistor. The diagram in figure
8.1 shows the arrangement for the circuit.
For the first set of measurements in this experiment, adjust VBB so that the base current (IB)
is set at 10µA. Then adjust VCC to give the required value of VCE. Throughout the first set of
measurements IB must remain at 10µA. When all the measurements have been taken for IB
= 10µA, repeat the experiment for IB = 20µA, 30µA and 40µA
Plot IC versus VCE for all the values of base current shown (preferably using Microsoft
Excel). Using your graph, determine the value of the current gain β at constant value of
VCE
