Circuit Description

Circuit Graph

Quarter-Bridge Strain Gage Configuration Type II * Measures axial or bending strain. * It helps further minimize the effect of temperature by using two strain gages in the bridge (R3, R4). R4 is active and a R3 is mounted in close thermal contact, but not bonded to the specimen and placed transverse to the principal axis of strain. * Requires half-bridge completion resistors (R1, R2) to complete the Wheatstone bridge. * R4 is an active strain gage measuring the tensile strain (+ε) and ranging from 119.5Ω to 120.5Ω in i.e. +/- 2000 um/m for a gage factor k = 2. As described in http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3642/en/
